I was hired for this project to create a logo design and slide-show movie for the school’s 4th grade graduating students. I created the design in Adobe Illustrator with a sport theme in mind. The video was made in Final Cut Pro with the photographs given to me by the school. Both assets were then turned into a DVD that the kids could keep as a memento. For the privacy of the students I cannot show the slideshow here, but the main client Stephanie Slear can be contacted to gather more details about the video part of the project.

For this product design I tried to go for a neutral light sports theme, seeing as it was about the grade’s track and field day at school. The things I chose to most represent this was the choice of main text, called CF Revolution, and a halftone pattern reminiscent of the texture of sports jerseys. I then took the star in the text and created a bunch of stylized stars throughout the various designs to create unifying symbol.
For the submissions of this project I had to ensure that important text and info would not get cut off by product dimensions and printer settings. I worked with the client’s chosen CD producer to effectively work within their format guidelines for both their physical product as well as the movie slideshow file. In regards to the later, that required compressing both video and audio files, and ensuring that the final result would not be too bloated with unnecessary information or too large of a file size to be workable.
